2008 Toyota Avensis with a lack of power and EML on.
This had been to the Toyota dealership where a forced regen had been carried out twice the 2nd time only lasted 2 weeks. Customer was told a new DPF was required costing over £2000 .
After having a discussion with the customer and carrying out the checks we put the fault P2002 soot accumulation down to driving conditions and poor fuel.
Car only doing 4000 miles per year and short journeys under 5 miles so engine not reaching running temperature.
DPF was cleaned reducing the pressure from 26mb at idle & 92mb at 2500rpm to 3.4mb at idle & 29mb at 2500rpm.
Customer advised on driving style and given after care treatment to help stop soot accumulation.
