This vehicle was set for the scrap yard due to being deemed “beyond economical repair”
I suppose if the franchised dealer have quoted over £2000 to rectify the fault then this could be the case only that’s not diagnostics, it’s guessing and replacing every part related to the fault.
The vehicle limped in to us with its DPF totally blocked (see the pressure gauge). The engine was totally choked and could only just about running due to a burst pipe.
In most cases the a blocked DPF is a symptom, not a cause! We carried out our carefully developed diagnostic procedure to find the cause of the blockage which required the removal, cleaning and refitting of 1 component plus the replacement or 2 other components. We then carried out a DPF clean.
Within 2 hours this job was completed with an invoice totaling a fraction of the dealer’s quoted price!
